Heights Cottage

Refurbishment and extension of a traditional cottage in the Scottish Highlands, near Kinlochewe, Wester Ross.

A complete refurbishment of a cottage on a shooting and walking estate in the Scottish Highlands, near Kinlochewe. The existing cottage and its later extension did not make the most of the beautiful setting with views to Beinn Eighe and the nearby river, Abhainn Bruachaig.

The client sought to adapt the existing house for modern living, while preserving its traditional character. This led to a reconfiguration of internal spaces and the addition of a modest extension oriented towards the landscape.
