A family practice, creating thoughtful Highland architecture since 1910

Featured Project

Heights Cottage, Kinlochewe

Nestled within a Highland glen on a private hunting estate, Heights Cottage is a 19th-century home thoughtfully renewed for modern living. The project restores the original stone cottage while introducing a new timber-clad extension that opens the house towards its extraordinary setting.

Large windows frame views across the valley, the river and the surrounding hills, allowing the landscape to define the character of the interior. The result is a quiet and enduring home that respects the simplicity of the traditional form while embracing the beauty of its remote location.

Living room with large windows showing a scenic landscape of mountains, fields, and rocks. Brown leather sofa with multiple plaid and striped pillows, a wooden coffee table, and a side table with a lamp. Curtains frame the windows and sliding door.
